Patsy B. Cogburn
Apr 13, 2018A native of Haywood County, she was a daughter of the late Elmer Grady and Maude Whitted Brookshire. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Toney Lee “Sonny” Cogburn, who died in 2012; a great grandson; three sisters; and four brothers. Patsy retired from Canton Laundry with 30 years of service. She enjoyed watching Tar Hill Basketball, Atlanta Braves Baseball, and local youth sports.She is survived by four daughters, Becky Hall (Mike) of Anderson, Alabama, Debbie Russell of Warrensburg, Missouri, Brenda Cogburn of Asheville, and Jenifer Price (Matthew) of Waynesville; one son, Chuck Russell (Nancy), of Townville, South Carolina; three sisters, Betty Brookshire, Dorothy Thomason, and Norma Jean Clark, all of Canton; one brother, Elmer Grady “Dooney” Brookshire, Jr. of Leicester; 10 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren.Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, April 13, in the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with her grandson Chad Hall officiating. Burial will follow at Bon-A-Venture Cemetery on Newfound Road.
